      Internship Opportunities

Travelport’s interns are valued members of our team, directly contributing to products and to our business success. They work with our leading technologists and business people on our company’s most important projects, and every intern presents his or her work to Travelport’s Chief Information Officer and our technology leadership team.

The majority of our internships are related to technology development, in areas including (but not limited to): programming (C and C++, Prolog, Java, .Net, VB, database), information security, mathematics, data modeling, social and mobile computing, and program management.

The internships we offer include opportunities such as these:

      Intern Software Developer
Working in our Fares and Pricing team, this position is responsible for producing clean, readable, structured code that is easily maintainable, provides desired functionality and adheres to code specification. Candidates should have the ability to recognize a problem, identify origin and modify source code to provide resolution. The right candidate will understand current software development strategies and technologies, and apply them to create innovative solutions. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with basic coding concepts in at least one language, preferably .net (C# and/or ASP) or Java open systems application development environments, and be able to perform testing/debugging of software applications.

      Intern User Experience/R&D

The role is responsible to help define and document business needs and requirements to facilitate the creation of solutions; facilitation of solution delivery; and coordination of testing activities and user sign-off. The right candidate will be able to clearly communicate insights and findings with appropriate context to leadership and stakeholders

What will your internship look like?

Travelport's internships are about applying your skills to real-life problems that matter to customers and advanced technology. They are also about helping you start a challenging and satisfying career in the technology industry.

While at Travelport, you will experience a comprehensive program where you’ll learn about the projects you’ll undertake, about Travelport, as well as our industry as a whole. For example, during our Fall program, each week a senior leadership team member can give a presentation specifically for the interns on trends and developments in a critical technology or business area.

In addition, you’ll meet regularly with an assigned mentor to talk about your experiences, aspirations, and potential career in the travel and technology industry. At the conclusion of your internship, you will have a chance to give a presentation to the company's CIO, as well as his Senior Leadership team.

We ask for your feedback regularly and adapt our program to ensure everyone in the program has a rich and rewarding experience at Travelport

Hear from Interns, Mentors and Managers

      Andrew, Denver

"We had five interns in our area last year and they were able to start working on exciting travel projects from the very first day. Our interns expressed how much that they valued the real world experience and the open access to all levels of management. I was surprised at one aspect of the internship is how much we were able to gain and learn from the interns. My favorite was when the interns presented their work to the GTS Direct Reports – they did a fabulous job and you could see how much influence and value they were able to provide in the short amount of time they were here. I wholeheartedly support this program and believe it is beneficial to the interns as well as to Travelport."

      Lana Southwick
Travelport, Vice President - Global Technology Solutions
      Kansas City, MO

"What makes our program successful is the outstanding commitment from everyone in the organization to support our internship program. In particular our managers and mentors have the greatest opportunity to make the 121 connection to ensure that they help each and every intern to ensure that they have an outstanding journey with us at Travelport. In particular they encourage and guide them to developing new or existing technical skills whilst they are working on real life projects. This is combined with offering advice and support to direct the intern on their way to the beginning of their successful career path."
